The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership is a UK-regulated postgraduate qualification designed for experienced managers, senior professionals, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and aspiring executives who wish to strengthen their strategic management and leadership capabilities.

Regulated by Ofqual, the qualification is positioned at Level 7 on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), the same academic level as a UK master’s degree. It also provides a recognised progression route to an MBA or master’s Top-Up programme.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following entry requirements:

  • Hold an honours degree in a related subject, a UK Level 6 diploma, or an equivalent overseas qualification; or
  • Be a mature learner with relevant management experience, subject to approval by the delivery centre.

Applicants must normally be at least 21 years old at the beginning of the programme.

Learners from countries where English is not the majority language must also provide evidence of English-language proficiency.

Qualification Equivalency

The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership is regulated on the Regulated Qualifications Framework and is academically equivalent to the taught component of a UK master’s degree.

The diploma carries 120 credits. After completing the qualification, learners may be eligible to progress to a 60-credit MBA or master’s dissertation Top-Up programme at a recognised university, enabling them to achieve a full postgraduate degree.

Admission to a Top-Up programme remains subject to the entry requirements of the receiving university.

Qualification Structure

The qualification comprises four mandatory units and two optional units. It carries a total of 120 credits, with 1,200 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 600 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).
