Embarking on the study of physics is to study the relation between the smallest grain of sand and the sun. It is the study of matter, motion, space and time. It is the most fundamental of science disciplines and its main goal is to understand how the universe behaves. You will get to learn about the building blocks of everything. Studying physics – either on its own or alongside the other core sciences – will help you start you on a path of understanding how the universe came to be. This vital foundational knowledge will help you go on to study physics at A-level (or equivalent) and beyond. During your studies you will explore energy, the particle model of matter, atomic structure, forces and how they are all linked. You will also get the opportunity to study space physics including the stability of orbital motion and red-shift. Upon earning your GCSE in Physics, you will have a gained a comprehensive understanding of physics including key theories and principals. This will allow you to build on your knowledge through A-level or Access to Higher Education courses.
